Christmas has arrived!
The festive spirit is well and truly here at Flamingo HQ.
In between working hard for our clients, we’ve been devouring mince pies, decorating our tree and choosing our Secret Santas.
It all started on 1 December, when Emma walked in with advent calendars for the whole team! It's been a real challenge to eat just one a day and some us failed pretty early on...
Not naming names!
The team also decided to set up a Christmas movie club in our meeting room, where we can have lunch, watch a festive film and have a little natter!

It's been 12 months of hard work here at Flamingo and sometimes we need to remember to sit back, recuperate and reflect on a year of success!
Yesterday evening, the team headed to the pub for a few after-work drinks.
With the team all living close to each other, it gives us the chance for a visit to the pub every now and again and nobody's complaining!
We won't have to wait long for the next one, as we're off for Christmas Eve lunch next week.

Off to the capital
There are lots of nice things about Christmas, but one of our favourites at Flamingo is getting together with clients to celebrate the festivities.
Earlier this week, Emma and Eddy were invited to attend a Christmas lunch hosted by our clients in London.
It was a chance to catch up with their wider team, discuss marketing plans for 2026 and enjoy a delicious meal (and after-dinner drinks).

Five things we learnt from 2025
Here at Flamingo Marketing Strategies, we do A LOT of marketing (I know, who'd have thought ).
The end of the year presents us with an opportunity to look back and reflect on just what worked for ourselves and our clients.
So here are five top trends we saw in 2025 that you can use in your marketing for 2026...
1. 2025 was the year of authenticity
Although AI is all the rage right now, and rightly so - you should definitely have some space for AI to improve processes and boost efficiency in 2026. We consistently saw higher reach, engagement and success with social posts that leaned on real pictures of real people doing real things!
2. Cold email marketing is far from dead
This is a topic that when mentioned can cause every eye in the room to roll, and as explained in Eddy's Christmas Calendar video on cold email marketing, that's due to a lot of people doing it poorly. This year we experimented with a cold approach to emails and after a lot of tinkering we managed to find an angle that consistently got calls booked in our diary.
3. Don't be afraid to ask questions
With any outreach we ran this year for our clients the campaigns that did the best utilised direct messaging that asked questions and tried to start a dialogue. Avoid jargon, sound like a real person in your messaging and try to illicit a response.
4. The power of brand awareness
Brand awareness is another marketing that often gets scoffed at due to it's lack of measurability. However, it's a crucial part of any marketing strategy and we've seen a number of clients reap the rewards this year of committing to long-term and consistent messaging across all their marketing channels.
5. Get your site sorted!
This year we've taken on more website projects than ever before! It's a fundamental aspect of your business and marketing strategy that you need to get right. When we're talking to prospective clients about their marketing the very first thing we take a look at is their website.
